Kim Cannon grew up dividing his time between his grandfather's ranch on the head of the Green River north of
Cora, Wyoming, and California. After working on ranches in Sublette and Teton Counties he owned and operated his
own horse pack outfit in the Wind River Mountains (1969-1973).

He received his A.B. degree from Dartmouth College, cum laude in 1970, and his J.D. from the University
of Colorado in 1974. He joined the firm, then known as Burgess & Davis, out of law school and became a partner
in 1980. Concentrating on complex litigation, Kim has represented clients throughout Wyoming in a wide variety
of cases from natural resources, commercial, construction, employment, personal injury, products liability,
professional malpractice, securities and significant asset divorce litigation. Kim is an active member of the
Sheridan County Bar (President, 1982), the Wyoming State Bar (Civil Pattern Jury Instructions and Continuing
Legal Education Committees), and the American Bar Association (Litigation Section). He served as a member
and chairman of the Wyoming Environmental Quality Council (1992-1996) and the Wyoming Commission on Judicial
Conduct and Ethics (1997-2003).
Additionally, he has served as a Vice President of the Dartmouth Lawyers Association (1997-present) and a board
member of the Wyoming Trial Lawyers Association (2004-2006). As one of the firm's four "AV" rated attorneys by
Martindale-Hubbell, he has also been a long-standing selection in Best Lawyers in America (personal injury),
in Mountain States Super Lawyers and Who's Who in American Law. Mr. Cannon was inducted as a
Fellow, International Academy of Trial Lawyers, in 2007.
Outside of the law, his interests range from theater (Wyo Theater, Inc 1982-1991) to environmental policy
(Wyoming Environmental Quality Council 1992-1996) to polo (Big Horn Equestrian Center Board of Directors) to horses,
skiing and fly fishing. He serves as the Director of Enrollment Development for Dartmouth College for Wyoming
coordinating all alumni interviews and recommendations of applicants from the state and served as the Chair of
